Team members joined us from every county in Ireland and also from UK, germane, US, France, Switzerland & Canada. Team Manuela has now gone global!

Thanks to the team, support team and our team sponsors for making it happen. We achieved all we did as a team because of the amazing team members and also because of the people behind the scenes that gave so much support and their own time to the team. Thanks especially to our team sponsors, Massimo, Londis Newcastle, Galway, To Dave Gallagher, Aidan and all the gang at Results Ireland, Kevin Nugent at Mr. Waffle and The Hiigrove, Dingle. Special thanks to all the team on the Phil Cawley Show, Phil, Jen and to Bob Conway for broadcasting from Dingle on the day for the team. To Catherine McBride at Salt n Pepper, Salthill, Galway.

Projects funded

As a result of the fundraising efforts from dingle as well as from all other fundraising efforts throughout the year… The Manuela Riedo foundation recently provided funding of 53,500 to various projects all around ireland.

The projects funded as a result of all your hard work:

  • 5,000 to north east rape crisis centre in Dundalk to train 10 volunteers to staff the helpline. This will keep the helping line open in the north east of the country for 2016.
  • 3,500 to the SATU (Sexual Assault Treatment Units) national day of learning in the Rotunda hospital. Bringing together the doctors, forensic examiners, An Garda Suiochana, rape crisis counsellors and other professionals for their national day of training.
  • 6,000 to Tullamore Rape Crisis Centre in the midlands which will be used to provide 171 counselling sessions for victims and survivors.
  • 11,500 to Tralee Rape Crisis Centre which will be used to provide 280 counselling sessions
  • 17,500 to Galway Rape Crisis Centre which will take 13 people of the long term waiting list for counselling at the centre.
  • 10,000 towards the Manuela Programme A national conference was held in Galway in early October where the Rape Crisis Centres from all over Ireland came together to begin what is hoped will be a national training programme to be rolled out to Transitional Year students all over Ireland that will be aimed at reducing sexual violence by empowering young people with the necessary education, skills and behaviours to do so.
